Within the hotel grounds is the Quiet Garden. When SCH Iona Ltd. sold the hotel in 2004 they were in the middle of raising funds for the construction of a quiet room at the northern end of the hotel. As they had not raised sufficient funding at the time of the sale it was decided that instead of a quiet room the funds would be used to build a quiet garden instead. A gift from old ownership to new ownership, the garden is much appreciated.
The Quiet Garden was designed and built by Simon Dowle of Little Landscapes in the summer of 2005. The space is designed to be one of peace and meditation. It is intended for the use of hotel guests and island residents. If you like what Simon has done here and would like to talk to him about work he may be able to do for you he can be contacted on 07976 214385.
